Yonex refines the shaft geometry, optimising the racket's bend during impact for enhanced performance. They introduce a slightly thicker beam to provide additional pop and stability. Under the hood, 2G-NAMD (Flex Force) is added to the graphite layup, promoting more effective snapback during impact. Material updates include Flex Fuse, incorporating a soft polymer in the layup for added comfort. Yonex's signature ISOMETRIC head shape endures, ensuring a larger sweet spot and a more forgiving feel. Continuing from the previous generation, this update features VDM (Vibration Dampening Mesh), a handle technology designed to reduce harsh impact vibrations.
 
On groundstrokes, the VCORE PRO 97 moves with greater agility than its heavier counterpart endorsed by Wawrinka. This makes it ideal for defensive scrambling or hitting shots on the run.
